This week was National Farm Safety week.
Some of Mr. Kenning's Ag classes taught the elementary students about grain safety, fire safety and germ safety. The high school students made a maze out of cardboard boxes for the kids to crawl through with blind glasses on, this was representing the smoke, and they had to work their was through the maze and out to the meeting spot.
The elementary learned not to play with, or in, grain bins or in grain trucks because you could easily sink in to the grain and suffocate. They also had the kids talk about how important it is to wash your hands after playing with their pets or whatever.
They put some glow germs in their hands and then let them play with balls to show how many germs are spread out through everyone. Then they put their hands under the black light to see the germs. The elementary student also received safety handouts to take home.
