The Beatrice Sertoma Club held its 34th annual scholar/athlete awards banquet on Sunday, April 27th at the Gage County Fairgrounds. The Sertoma Club honors area scholar/athletes from 11 area schools, including Wilber-Clatonia Public Schools.
The local recipients generally have to be a three sport athlete, have a GPA above 3.5 on a 4.0 scale, and must be a senior and be in good standing with school rules and policies. This year's recipients for Wilber-Clatonia are pictured. They lettered in volley, basketball, track and football, basketball, track.
The banquet was held at the 4-H building on the Gage county fairgrounds. This year’s speaker was Dani Busboom, a scholar/athlete in her own right from the University of Nebraska Lincoln's volleyball program and a high school graduate from FreemanPublic Schools and a former Sertoma Club honoree herself. Several W-C coaches and administrators were in attendance.
